Add Normal Mailbox

A Normal mailbox account has a dedicated phone line that is not shared with others. For example, in an enterprise, only the person assigned to a workstation uses the phone line set for the position.

Features of a normal mailbox:

A Normal mailbox can take voice messages from callers, when the phone line is busy or the subscriber does not answer calls.
Normal mailbox subscribers can record personal greetings for their mailboxes that will better instruct callers about their availability and how to leave messages.
Normal mailbox subscribers can record a name for their mailbox. This name is played when other subscribers in the Organization address messages to the mailbox. This will ensure that the subscribers are addressing messages to the correct recipients.

The table describes the parameters associated with a normal mailbox. Click Edit to modify the parameters (Modify Normal Mailbox Settings).

Parameter	Description
First Name	(Mandatory) The subscriber’s first name.
Last Name	(Mandatory) The subscriber’s last name.
Email Name (portion before @domain)	(Mandatory) The subscriber’s e-mail name. I.e. the portion before the @domain. By default the system does not ask for this parameter if Mereon Unified Messaging is not enabled. The system will create an e-mail mailbox with this email ID on the underlying mail server only if the underlying mail server type is CommuniGate 4.x or IPlanet 5.x
Email ID	(View only) The subscriber’s e-mail ID.
Email User Name	(View only) The subscriber’s e-mail user name.
Email Password	(Mandatory) The subscriber’s e-mail password. By default the system does not ask for this parameter if organization is not unified messaging enabled.
Mailbox number	(Mandatory) The subscriber’s mailbox number. Ensure the mailbox number is not already in use. By default for residential organizations, this is set to the phone number assigned to this subscriber.
Voicemail Password	(Mandatory) The voice mailbox’s password. Must conform to Default TUI password policy.
Class of Service	(Mandatory) Class of Service for the subscriber.
Country Code	Select a country code from the list. The list is only visible if the system administrator enabled E164 number support.
Phone Number	Phone number for the subscriber. Depending on system settings, you might be restricted to selecting a phone number from a range of phone numbers provisioned by the system administrator.
Video Message Enabled	Click to enable Video Messaging for this mailbox.
Phone is video- Enabled	This setting determines the subscriber video phone state. By default, this box is checked if the administrator enabled the organization so that all subscribers are enabled for video phone.
